John Doll, Vice President of Construction

John Doll joined Shaw Electric in 1971. Starting out as an apprentice, he was later promoted to Foreman, General Foreman, Project Manager, and Senior Project Manager before being appointed to Vice President of Construction in 2001. During his 38 years with the company, John has helped guide the Company through tremendous growth and changes in the industry. John studied electrical engineering at Kansas State University and Washburn University, and is a certified Master Electrician. He also received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Army Reserves. John also finished his 4-year electrical apprenticeship with Local Union #124 in 1975.

Dennis Davies, Vice President of Service

Dennis Davies joined Shaw Electric in 1980, when he started out handling marketing and new accounts. He later became a technician, and worked his way up through the ranks to his current position of Vice President. Previously in his career, Dennis worked at Rexel Glasco, a worldwide distributor of electrical and datacom products. As Vice President of Service with Shaw Electric, Dennis has strived to make his team of technicians feel like family, and has a track record of keeping employees for a long time through excellent team relationships and prime working conditions. He has also achieved an outstanding safety record during his tenure with the company.

Tom Ellis, Vice President of Engineering and Preconstruction Services

Tom Ellis joined Shaw Electric in 2001, starting out in the electrical construction field. Later, as he gained extensive experience in electrical construction, estimating, and project management, he assumed responsibility for the operations of Engineering and Preconstruction Services. He has more than 15 years’ experience in the design and implementation of electrical systems for a wide range of commercial, industrial, institutional, and government projects. Before coming to Shaw, Tom worked at Gibbens Drake Scott and Henderson Engineers. Tom holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Kansas State University, and received his Master Electrician Certification in 1990. He is a licensed engineer in 5 states, including Kansas, Missouri, Arizona, California, and Oklahoma. Tom also obtained his LEED AP in 2009..

Stephen Klemmer, Head Estimator

Steve Klemmer started out in 1998 with Shaw Electric, working as Senior Estimator for commercial, industrial, and institutional electrical construction projects. After spending several years in Naples, Florida as Division Manager for Collier Daniel Electrical Contractors. He returned to Shaw in 2007 and assumed the role of Head Estimator of the Estimating Department., Today, Steve is responsible for reviewing all of Shaw Electric’s estimates, as well as developing new unit prices and performing estimating and budgetary reviews. Prior to joining Shaw Electric, Steve founded and operated Mi Linn Electric, an electrical contracting firm that employed 65 people and did an annual volume of $6 million in sales. He earned his Master Electrician Certificate in 1992.

Bryan Larson, Division Manager of Low Voltage

Bryan Larson joined Shaw Electric in 2002. In the past, he provided estimating, project management, and system design of a wide variety of low voltage systems, including fire alarms, security, sound reinforcement, CCTV surveillance, computer networks, telephone/data cabling, fiber optics, card access, and nurse call systems. Today, as Division Manager, he is responsible for all aspects of Low Voltage operations, and coordinates and mobilizes field personnel to ensure that budgets and schedules are met in a timely fashion. Prior to working at Shaw, Bryan managed the installation of low voltage systems at Progressive Electronics. His past customers include the Department of Veterans Affairs, Truman Medical Center, Cold Storage Lofts, the University of Kansas Medical Center, Cass County Justice Center, and St. Luke’s Medical Center. Bryan earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri—Columbia, and is currently working towards obtaining his Professional Engineering License for the State of Missouri.
